Sven was first a teaching assistant (6 years), then a post-doctoral researcher (4 years) at the WISE lab, Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He finished his Phd titled "Designer Specified Self Re-organizing Websites" to obtain the degree of Doctor in Science in 2005. Since October 2010, he is a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow (IEF) at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain.
