I am currently an affiliated post-doctoral researcher at WISE. In 2013, I obtained a PhD in computer science with a dissertation entitled "Grounding Ontologies with Social Processes and Natural Language". In my thesis, I investigated the role of the exchange of natural language definitions of concepts (called glosses) in the social interactions that take place when a community of stakeholders is constructing ontologies collaboratively. Before that, I obtained a BSc in Applied Computer Science at Hogeschool Gent (University College Gent) in 2005, a BSc in Computer Science and a Msc in Applied Sciences and Engineering: Computer Science at the VUB in 2007 and 2009 respectively. I started working at STARLab as a developer in 2007. You can find more information about my education and work experience on my LinkedIn page.
My research interests include: Ontology Management, Knowledge Management, Ontology Engineering, Ontology Reuse, Ontology Languages (RDFS, OWL, etc.) and Semantic Wikis. I'm also interested in the latest developments concerning Web 2.0.
