Cross-device interaction, Internet of Things, end-user development, recommendation systems and human-AI interaction
Current Research:
During my Master's thesis entitled Fluid Cross-Media and Cross-Device Interaction in the Office of the Future, we investigated related work in the domain of cross-device and cross-media interaction. Based on our background research, we came up with a framework to combine both research domains in an office of the future. Building further upon my master thesis, my PhD thesis was born: eSPACE: Conceptual Foundations for End-User Authoring of Cross-Device and Internet of Things Applications. While in my Master's thesis we focussed on an office setting, in my PhD thesis we broadened this version of our framework to a more general setting. In addition, our main objective was not only to focus on how to allow developers to build such cross-device and IoT interaction environments but also to allow end users to create their customised interactive environments based on a dedicated authoring tool.
I started as a junior post-doc in October 2020, working on augmenting the end-user authoring tool developed during my PhD with a recommendation system that will help end users during the design of applications and user interfaces.
