From the academic year 2012/2013 on (first semester), WISE is offering a new course on Next Generation User Interfaces.

The thesis proposals of the WISE research group are available on Note that these proposals are intended for our own students (VUB students). Students may also propose their own topic. In that case, contact either Prof. De Troyer or Prof. Signer.

At the 12th International Conference on Web Information System Engineering (WISE 2011) in Sydney (Australia), the paper "Transparent Mobile Querying of online RDF sources using Semantic Indexing and Caching", by WISE members William Van Woensel, Elien Paret and Olga De Troyer, together with Sven Casteleyn of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), has won the best paper award!

The paper 'Efficient Querying of Distributed RDF Sources in Mobile Settings based on a Source Index Model' by the WISE members Elien Paret, William Van Woensel, Sven Casteleyn, Beat Signer and Olga De Troyer won the MobiWIS 2011 best paper award!
